Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 September 2026
1. Your media is never uploaded
Beat Cut runs the entire editing pipeline — beat detection, scene detection, cutting and encoding — locally in your browser using WebAssembly. The video and audio files you select are read directly by the page and processed in memory on your own machine.
We never receive them, never store them, and could not access them if we wanted to. When you close the tab, they are gone. The finished export is written straight to your device by your browser.
2. What we do collect
Beat Cut has no accounts and no login, so we hold no name, address or password for you. We do collect limited, non-identifying usage data:
- Google Analytics 4. Anonymous usage events — page views, and whether steps such as loading a song, starting a render or saving an export occurred. This tells us which parts of the tool work and which fail. It includes coarse technical data supplied by your browser, such as device type, browser, and approximate country-level location. It never includes your media or filenames.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics. Aggregate traffic and performance measurement supplied by our host.
- Server logs. Standard request logs kept by Cloudflare Pages, which serves this site.
3. Storage on your device
If you buy Beat Cut Pro, your licence key and its activation record are
stored in your browser's localStorage so that your exports
stay watermark-free on that device. This stays on your machine; it is
not a tracking cookie and is not shared. Clearing your browser data for
this site removes it, and you can remove it yourself at any time using
the "Remove license from this device" link on the site.
4. Third parties
- Polar handles payment and licence keys for Beat Cut Pro. If you buy, your payment details are entered on Polar's systems and are never seen by us. See Polar's own privacy policy for how they handle that data.
- Google Analytics processes the anonymous usage events described above.
- Cloudflare hosts the site and serves every page.
- jsDelivr serves the video-processing engine (FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly) to your browser. Your browser requests that file from them, which means they receive your IP address as part of an ordinary web request.
5. Your rights
Because we hold no account and no personal profile, there is generally nothing personal for us to retrieve or delete. If you are in the UK, EU or another region with data-protection rights and want to ask about analytics data associated with your visit, contact us at the address below and we will help.
You can prevent analytics collection entirely with any standard browser content blocker or by enabling "Do Not Track". Beat Cut's editing features work exactly the same either way.
6. Children
Beat Cut is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
7. Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page.
